IATSE Local 15 is the Western Washington Local of The International Alliance Of Theatrical Stage Employees, Moving Picture Technicians, Artists And Allied Crafts Of The United States, Its Territories And Canada, organized in the crafts of Stage and Projection.  We are affiliated with the AFL-CIO, Canadian Labour Congress, Washington State, King, Pierce, Snohomish, Whatcom County Labor Councils. Local 15 was granted a charter in Seattle in 1894, the 15th local in the nation.

Our geographic jurisdiction is generally defined as Western Washington state. It specifically includes the metropolitan Seattle area and all territory extending northward to the U.S./Canadian Border, westward to the Pacific Ocean, east and southward to a point halfway between Seattle and the nearest affiliated local union with like craft jurisdiction, Portland and Spokane. Our craft jurisdiction is Stage, Audio-Visual and Projection in the Entertainment, Corporate Meeting, Trade Show and Film Exhibition industries. Our workers are talented builders, riggers, electricians, sound engineers, projectionists and technicians.

We hold about a dozen theatrical contracts thoughout Western Washington including the 5th Avenue Theatre, the Paramount Theatre, Seattle Opera, Pacific NW Ballet, Benaroya Hall and Seattle Symphony, Seattle Repertory Theatre, ACT Theatre, Intiman Theatre, Seattle Children’s Theatre, Pantages & Rialto Theatres in Tacoma and Mount Baker Theatre in Bellingham. In addition to our stage contracts, we work at the Seattle Art Museum, Seattle Center, and Chateau St. Michelle Winery on concerts and festivals. We also do corporate events and convention work at the Washington State Convention Center and various other venues in the Northwest.

General Membership meetings are usually held on the first Monday of every month at 5:30 p.m. in the Seattle Labor Temple, Hall 6.  These are Members-only meetings, though twice a year an open meeting is held (usually January and July) in which all workers on the Dispatch list are welcome to attend.
