Local 15 operates a hiring hall for the purpose of dispatching workers to job sites. It is the responsibility of Local 15 to offer work as available to eligible workers according to their position on the dispatch list. The entry level list is called the F list.

The F List is composed of new applicants who pass an initial qualifying test or present proof of at least three years employment in the industry or an accredited technical theatre program, are approved after an interview with the Board of Examiners and sign a Hiring Hall Agreement. New workers are placed on the F List in order of their composite admission scores. In accordance with Washington State Law, all workers must be at least 18 years of age to engage in gainful employment within the jurisdiction of this Local.

Local 15 of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, Moving Picture Technicians, Artists and Allied Crafts of the United States, Its Territories and Canada (I.A.T.S.E.) needs dedicated workers with daytime, evening, weekend and/or holiday availability. Successful candidates will be dispatched through a full-referral hiring hall for on-call work with no guaranteed minimum number of hours.

The qualifying test is scheduled several times a year and takes place at The Labor Temple at 2800 1st Avenue in Seattle.

Candidates must pass an initial qualifying test, demonstrate the ability to lift 50 pounds, and possess the ability to lift 32 lbs. overhead. In addition, candidates must be able to climb and work safely at heights in excess of 50 feet.

Local 15 also represents projectionists in many movie theatres in Seattle and Tacoma. Projectionists have their own Business Representative and work list. Any individual interested in working as a projectionist contact Brian Whitish at (206) 441-1540.
